View Full Version : Put Material To Scene Code

Hello everyone, was wondering if there is any code for the equivalent of "Put Material to Scene" button on the Material Panel?

What I am trying to do is to go through the scene materials and change all vray materials into standard materials while retaining the opacity channel and its values. I have managed to create a new standard material using meditMaterials command and copied the opacity map and its value over. I renamed the new standard material as the old and the "Put Material to Scene" button is now active in the new standard material. BUT I cant get max to use the new standard material. So I'd like to know if there is any code for the "Put Material to Scene" button. I wouldnt want to go through all objects and ungroup them and select the objects that uses the Vray material and reassign the Standard material to it. Anybody willing to suggest a solution?

Sorry about the whole thread. It seems I could use 3dzver's VrayMtlConvertor to get all my vray textures into standard textures before running my own script. Its been solved, so no problems now.
