hi folks!

this is an animation i'm working on right now:
http://www.bockstyre.com/james/pirateboy_blocking.mov

i'm using the free maya rig theo, it seems to work great!

so far i've done the blocking of the animation and some timing.
please comment and tell me what you think, or what could be done better!

will be posting here every day until the animation is finished.
i have until sunday to complete it.

wish me luck!

No comments so far... but here is todays update as promised!

You where right, the animation was to hard to read!
Since the animation was hard to read/understand now is to stick with just one outfit.
I've also skipped the jump inbetween the camera clips.
I think it helps to read the animation, what do you think?

Here is the latest update:
http://www.bockstyre.com/james/pirateboy_first_pass.mov

I've shorten the clip since the blocking. Right now it's 320 frames.
I was hoping to have it no longer than 250 frames since it has to be
finished within two more days. Is it possible to shorten it any more?

All critic and comments are welcome! I really want this animation to turn out good!

I think your doing great! Keep it up! The poses look great. Their are some areas that in the second pass that you could smooth out. More ease in and ease out will be needed than. Don't have him just stop abruptly.

Tomorrow is my last day to work on this animation.
Please help me out with comments and critic!
Timing issues, arc problems, weird poses?

I really want this animation to become as good as possible!

Thanks!

Hahaha, pretty funny. Nice movements and timing.
I've just started learning how to animate, so I'm not the most qualified user to give some comments. To me it looks great. :D

http://www.bockstyre.com/james/pirateboy_final.mov

if there was the time, i have a few idéas how the animation read better.
also i think the animation could be pushed futher.
but for me to to have animated it in only five days i'm pretty pleased.
hopefully next time i'll have more time and more great comments to go by.

cheers!
