View Full Version : isolate an object?
rob rhodes 08-03-2006, 05:02 PM I was reading a book on Max (thought I was going to have to learn it for a new job but found one that uses C4D ) Anyway i came across the isolate command in max which lets you 'isolate' an object or group of objects in a scene, basically turning everything else off with one click so you can work on that object, and it also gives you the option to orbit the camera around that object (possible in cinema but more steps to go through). Is there a way to isolate objects like this in c4D? The only way I know is clicking the dots on each object to make it non visible. I know you could group everything except the object and turn the group off but was hoping there was a better way.
Cheers, Rob

excellent thanks for that guys, will check it out, I bet there are soo many plugs i've over looked! Trouble with me is I download all these plugins thinking they'l come in handy one day, then either forget i've got them or havn't a clue what they do or how they work! Like Oban I hear thats pretty powerful but I've never had time to look at it, Is it like Jenna? That is a plug I use a fair bit. Seems like the isolate option should be a built in though.
