Frog this is great work. I don't have anything to crit. It's great.

Just a little suggestion maybe: If you make that sunset a bit more red/orange/yellow, you could use that coloured lightsource to bring some colour into the light areas of the clouds and the waves. That might bring some more life to it. But like I said: just a suggestion, great work :buttrock:

Thanks for the kind comments jeroentje, very much appreciated. I do really like the idea you've suggested, but that might have to be a different painting, I think that the grey blue light here helps to suggest the stormy atmosphere I'm after.

Light is what painting is all about IMO, and that light you suggest is one of the nicest to look at. Check out this photo I took in Western Australia last month, I think this is the sort of thing you are talking about. Might make a good starting point for another painting some day :)

I would not make the sky more red, as this would be associated with good weather, which is not what I think you're after here.

Beautiful pic, but the one little thing that's niggling at be is the spray on the right hand side of the boat, which appears to be going back over the boat. The wind and waves appear to be moving in the opposite direction.

One other thing. The red and green lights appear to be marking fore and aft, whereas I think these colors generally are used to denote port and starboard. I'm no boat expert, so you might want to check with somebody who is.

Then again, for all I know, both of these are from reference and they may be perfect just as they are.

Frog, that is a beautifull photograph :)
But that goes way beyond what I meant. Just a few touches of it I was suggesting. Anyway, like I said, it was just a suggestion ;) Great work here.
