View Full Version : blob particle shading
Pilchard 08-03-2006, 01:42 PM Hey all!
I am trying to add Subsurface scattering to a blob particle setup I have.
However I can't see how the SSS, (or any other shader node), hooks up correctly so it all renders.
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks, Richard.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can't use generic shaders with blobby particles (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!). However, you might want to check out the Metaball-Addon from http://www.motionblur.it/ .. it can have particle-clouds as source, and you can give them any shader you want.

Ah nice one! I'll check that out shortly! :) Thanks.
Seems silly if you can't add them to the XSI blobs. For rendering water etc..
