View Full Version : Gods/Demons - Character - NightFox
NightFox 03-14-2002, 10:53 PM Well, I figured I'd post something this challenge since the Feb challenge I was attempting didn't work out like I wanted.
Just doing free modelling, not going by any reference drawings.
WEE!! :-) I love that there's now 3283 people posting for this challenge. ;-)

Ahh.. more pics eh? It's not ready for meshsmoothing, but here's a quick run with smoothing groups over the updated body.
I dunno how it could be familiar.. lol there are just a lot of people that have pretty much a similar idea of how a demon looks, the hard part is trying to make yours look more original that the others.

Keep up the good work.

Here's the back.. I chamfered the edges on the torso, thighs, and along the spine where there's that kind of exoskeletal armor. I know the butt looks odd, but I'm debating on whether to put a tail on the sucker, or maybe it'll just look too common of a demon.
Also contemplating having the thing wearing some actual armor too. Some shoulder pads, chest straps... etc..
You know, all the neato things. but I'm going to have to skip that Trident idea. ;-)

Well, I have to say, this is has been a little bit of an experiment with High-poly from low-poly work.
Was having a bit of trouble trying to create the accessories for my guy. Tried modelling them as seperate objects and/or extruding sections of the mesh for the areas of the parts. And this is what I came up with.
I have to say, this might change later tho, well, before the end of the challenge. heh
So here's the front shot of the thing:

And the rear:
The reason the shadow looks off, is because I set 4 max spot lights (front, right, rear, left), and it gave off that effect with a hard spot of 90 with the falloff out to 150.
Anyways. It's always good to get more input.

its coming along good now, however I would say that your arm are too squarish and need a bit of work, but still good
btw love the suit and the back is really good looking, maybe fix the gaps in the back but other wize greate
