Hi all,
thanks all for the confidence.
Rich-Art: I have Hair too :)
Any time that i try to use Hair.. i feel depressd because it's a great piece of software, it's a Gem.
But FastFur can have different workflow and for easy jobs can be funny to use it :)
Cheers

I agree Renato. Much as I love Hair I still prefer FastFur for some things. This looks like an superb update at an insane upgrade price :)
Thanks

fast fur is so much easier and faster to setup- i love it.
and v2.0 seems even better.
when transformed into polys it also works great with other renderengines, i am using it very often, also not with AR;-)
also much cheaper than hair, which i think is more towards the more complex-long hair stuff (animated human people etc).
great Renato, cant wait to get the update:-)
cheers

I suppose you're right about this.
But my wallet has a bottom. I know your plugin is cheap compare to what it can do.
But I can't spend €70 if I have only €60 to spend, if you know what I mean. :)
Don't get me wrong, I realy like your plugins and even now I have MoGraph, I still use Pathdeformer and Nota from time to time.
So perhaps I will buy FastFur in the near future..
Who knows what Santa has in his bag for me.:scream:

Really nice and the price is very acceptable. Could anybody who owns it tell me if it works with MoGraph objects? I would love to support Renato, but since I don't do much organic stuff or arch-viz, the only use I can think of is furry/spikey text and clones for some funky effects. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi All,
I'm sorry but fastfur don't support generator but only polygon objects.
In fact, fastfur2.0 some week ago was working with generator... but due to some problems i removed it. Maybe that i can support generators without deformations just to support mograph like objects generator.
Thanks all

Hi renato :) Ive been watching this plugin grow since v1.2 and I have to say what I have seen this thing do is just absolutely amazing. Is there any chance of a demo? As I really dont have the cash for Hair this looks like it would be an awesome alternative! If an email is necessary thats fine by me :) Thx in advance!

Umblefugly,
Warning!: Renato's latest plugin version is compatible with R9.1 and above. If you're signature is correct, you only have R8.5 Studio. You'll need to do some additional investing (upgrading) to take advantage of Renato's beautiful plugin.
Hey, hope i'm wrong on this.

Great update. I received it earlier and tested some. I love it. However, the sample with the elephant crashes my C4D. It may be because of the rig and have nothing to do with FF2 but I thought I should mention it. Rendering speed is really good.

The current Release is the 2.05 where you can find a lots of optimizations.
The generate speed is now very fast, clumping was speed up for 100k furs by 3-4 times.. for 500k furs more :)
New noise function applied to the Wave effect that help a lots.
Status bar now is updated and you can in anytime change parameters without waiting the end (i know that this is a normal features... )

Hi everybody.
I just purchased the update and i wonder why there's no res folder in the archive?
When i start cinema, it says fastfur v2.05 loaded in the console, but there's no icon in the plugins menu. Also the scenes wont load.. :(
I copied over the old res folder from 1.45, and it would work then, but the interface in the am and the ff icon are the old ones (of course).
Could it be , there's something missing in the new archive or is it just me who's missing something ?
thanks

Hi all,
I've made a promotional august page of fastfur
The details are on my fastfur page:

Direct link to the promotions:
http://www.tarabella.it/C4D/FastFur2.0/AugustPromotion/AugustPromotions.html
I've changed the combing routine, now the fur is effects by all splinepoints with the correct influence, so the fur will have a better and progressive orientation.
News on my site :)

Hi Renato:
You've made several great changes with optimization and spline controls since your first release of FF2 so how do I get those newer changes? Or are they already built into the FF2 update that I purchased?
Thanks and great work!

In fact these are the news:
New Combing Routine
Different gravity management
New Optimization feature
Fix on the shader
Faster Clumping
Spline control for Wave
... maybe that i forgot some others things :)

Hi all,
i'm making some test with the FF 2.0 and i found that with the "fresnel", backface and variable subdivision... it's possible to render a tennis ball like this in 1/3 of time with realistics result. This model have about 800k polygons. So C4D will take on my PC 6 secs to start shadowmap (2 lights) and 36 seconds to make the entire image.

Hey man that would be nice because i cant afford hair.... so you already know apprimately when we can count on this ltd. release???
btw. Renato you use H264 encoder for your videos, is this the best encoder to make video tuts? I ask you because you have done already many .mov previews so i thought you know whats good or not, right?? just saw you took mov not avi any special reason for that??
RenatoT
08-11-2006, 12:41 AM
Ops.. i forgot to tell you all that the original frames is calculated by 1024x768, and the rendering time is at this resolution :)
FR33K: what do you mean with "ltd. release???".
FastFur is ready to ship and i'm releasing the 2.1 with some improvements, and new part for style the fur with kink, frizz, wave, curl and maybe some others.
I prefer Sorenson 3 to encode the videotutorials... but i'll like to find a lighter and better codec for the video.
Cheers

jsls: i'm glad to see that you own Hair and like also fastfur :)
Ok, the 2.1 is ready, here the key point for this release:
New Dynamics
Rewrote styling tools. Curl, Frizz, Wave, Kink.
Changing the subdivision will not more change the furs that you styled.
Save and Load Settings
Density Angle from camera dependent
Fixed bug that fail the correct distribution of fur.
i forgot the others :)
The bad is that older scene need to be restyled and the gravity must be retuned. :(
Thanks all for your support, the 2.1 will be released (i hope) tomorrow after all test and beta feedback.
Cheers
