MaDSheeP,
Published prices $1,300 for the Quadro FX 1000 and $2,000 for the Quadro FX 2000.
Might see slight discounts, but I doubt you will find them much below these prices for quite awhile.

NVIDIA’s success with these workstation cards will rely largely on it’s effectiveness in the DCC market, where it will be most used in OpenGL and DirectX development. In order to ensure it’s success, NVIDIA has worked hard to get their own cross API compiler into the major DCC applications…and they’ve succeeded. Accompanying NVIDIA’s press launch today, is the announcement that the big three of DCC apps, Maya, Softimage XSI, and discreet have integrated NVIDIA’s Cg right into their applications, such that direct Cg encoding and compilation can be done in real time.
thats the most important part though right there :) we are getting SO close to real time rendering that could fit a production pipeline!!!
specs look pretty damn sweet!!!!
cant WAIT to get my paws on onea these

Looks impressive.
There are things I want to ask though, to tech people on this forum.
1) First how important is OpenGL 2.0 capability today?
Cause as I searched for the latest ATI workstation card I noticed that they're supporting openGL 2.0.
2) Also is it true that nVidia hasn't solved all problems regarding DirectX9.0?
3) But the most important question perhaps is can you make use of these capabilities as of today. I mean the apps would need a tremendous rewrite on the renderer side, wouldn't they?
So do we really need that horsepower as animators right now?
4) What about the bottlenecks of todays system parts of a PC, that wouldn't let unleash the power of these cards to their full?
Maybe unnecessary inquiring here, but just a few things that would bother me when making a purchase like this...
