Last thing I've read is, that it probably will take around 3 weeks for him to update some of his plug-ins.
Yup, a minimum of three weeks and probably only slide to begin with and there should be a new version of Wings before then, about 5-6 days I think. Bjorng an absolute demon!
No work on the Ribbit plug till Feb either if I remember rightly.

Does anyone know what the last version of Wings that Clacos plug-ins worked for? Is it 0.98.04a? Is there somewhere I can grab it?
Thanks!

yep, 0.98.04a is the last working version.
you can download them from his website: http://members.lycos.co.uk/clacos/
Well I'm pretty sure it says which version the plugs work with on the download page. All versions of wings are available apparently, not sure where but you should be able to find out if you browse the warm and fuzzy forum. Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks guys!
I found the version of Wings I needed here (just in case anyone else wanted to know)

Ribbit is a plug by KayosIII which exports scene files in rib format for use in renderman compliant renderers like 3Delight and Aqsis. I'm really looking forward to trying it, those apps produce some stunning renders but sound like a nightmare to use without the plug. And the good news is it should be ready ahead of schedule, a few days maybe!

I love "slide", especially the fact that it lets you weld two vertices together.

wow, i'll do my best :) . Next version will be a rewrite, not simple updates; that's why i need real time ahead to do it properly.
Meanwhile, don't forget that they're doing nothing that's impossible to do with the basic tools.
Really nice forum, great to see so many new wings users

Awesome news Clacos! So how the heck do you easily weld one vertex to another?

Collapse the edge that's in between the two vertices (if they do not share an edge, connect them to create one), this will weld the two vertices into one, put at the averaged position.

Clacos,
I'm excited for your new version of slide! I have used Mirai for 11 years now. I have asked for a tool like slide before. It's great to finally see it for Wings!
Thanks!

I have used Mirai for 11 years now.
Geeeee
Was Mirai sold by that time, or only in development ? (just curiosity).
Slide is something i had also been dreaming about in other softs since a long time, i was baffled when i realized that i could program it in wings relatively easily, thanks to excellent bjorn's coding and erlang !!

Sorry!
The software that is now known as Mirai was known in the 80's as Symbolics, which ran on Symbolics lisp based workstations. Later it was ported to Sgi and known as Ark Geometry from Triple I. Then it was marketed by Nichimen and became Nichimen Graphics. It was then ported to the PC and ran on both SGi and PC. The software then became Mirai and was marketed by Winged Edge Technologies. Now Izware. (I skipped a company or 2)
I got my start on Symbolics, but it's easier to just say Mirai!
You would be very surprised to know just how much 3d content you've seen in movies, tv, games, and 3d model catalogues that were built in Mirai. Oops! I mean Nichimen, uh Symbolics.....

Wasn't Mirai known as N-World for a while there? I believe Nintendo used N-World a lot for their games.

Yes you're right. N-World was from Nichimen Graphics. Nworld was comprised of Nichimen Geometry, Nichimen Dynamics, Nichimen Paint, ect., ect. I just remember it being more commonly known as Nichimen.
It's just easier to call it Mirai. Or you could call it the killer winged edge modeling application that has inspired a lot of tools lately.
