Hi there,

I've tried alot of animation tutorials now but i really cant find one that tells u how to make objects hidden/visible during animations.
Like making objects suddenly appear or disappear.
I hope someone could explain this to me :x

Greets.

There are a couple of ways to do this:

1. Animate the visibility track of the object(in track view, or right click on the object, and choose properties)

2. Animate the opacity of the object's map.

It's pretty easy to do. Take a look in the documentation if you get confused.

Hope that helps

3. Move the object on a single frame from somewhere off-camera to it's position. Be advised of motion-blur artifacts (though I usually do those in post, which circumvents that problem).

I know it's a cheap and painfully obvious way of doing it, I just wanted to have it mentioned :)

Btw, go into Properties for an object and you can animate its Visibility track directly from there. Just in case you feel you can't be bothered to open the Track View (or, er, maybe that's "Dope Sheet" nowadays?).

If your looking to make an object just appear out of thin air. Or to say switch out one object for another. Easiest way to go about it is to do like 3Dzealot suggested with the visibility track. Just make sure you have the start frame set to 0 then the frame just before it appears to 0 and then the next frame 100. Otherwise you'll get a fade in kind of effect.
