Not that anyone wanted to know, but I'm liking the lack of imagination in this thread. I thought everyone would try to be all, y'know, obscure and draw pictures of cars or their spouses' ear or something. Where are all the women with their nekkid Johnny Depps, though? In fact, if I was a woman, I would be looking for a new angle and - just to surprise the men, of course - I would draw more sexy women!

Edit: And since it's come up, I installed a demo of Sketchbook the other day and was exceedingly pleased with even the very early results. There's something about it that really does mimic the quick and simple efficiency of ballpoint on a cheap pad. I'm seriously considering shelling out for that...maybe a bit more experimentation.

Edit #2: Seems my trial version is outdated...I must've installed it from some cover disc or something. In the meantime, while I figure out what I'm going to do, here's one for the ladies; a self portrait:

Your sketches are great Ehsan; no need to worry if none of us taciturn bastards don't immediately comment. In fact, don't worry if there's no comment at all - it probably means you've intimidated me, err, I mean, those other people who post here. Down here people let their pens and styli do their talking for them. Mine habitually says, "Please don't hurt me!"

One thing you may want to keep in mind though is that if you're already the last poster, it's easier to click the Edit button and add on to your old post than to make completely new posts. Keeps things tidy :)

Ah - in that case, officially speaking, the first one's a bit too high, the second one too wide. That said, I've slipped up a couple of times, so I don't think anyone's going to spank you or anything...unless you're into that kind of thing, but this is one of the only topics I recommend broaching that subject in :D

Extended rules and info can be found in the stickies in the Daily Sketch Forum while the basics are covered in each and every topic (basically, they're the posts by RobertoOrtiz that say what the topic is and what the time limit is, etc.). Katie's sketch is on the second page, btw ;)

These are the rules:
You have 45 MN to do your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<<
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).
