broke down this speedpaint (68minutes) into 3 seperate videos dealing with basic scene setting, simple clouds, an organic skyline, and foreground elements, hopefully it'll give you guys a few ideas. 3 layers used using basic photoshop brushes (apart from the skyline where i made some brushes on the fly, included them in the rarfile), kept it simple to follow, and apart from a little cropping and contrast adjustment, you get exactly what's shown in the pic.

full sized version (http://www.spyroteknik.com/ftp/aviifinal.jpg)

------------------------

basic cloud formations (22mins runtime)
9.11mb xvid avi, winrar needed (http://www.spyroteknik.com/ftp/cloudformations.rar)

------------------------

basic cityscape/skyline (24mins runtime)
11.8mb xvid avi, winrar needed (http://www.spyroteknik.com/ftp/cityscapes.rar)

------------------------

foreground elements/character (22mins runtime)
6.21mb xvid avi, winrar needed (http://www.spyroteknik.com/ftp/foregroundelements.rar)

------------------------

hopefully you guys will enjoy them.
any problems with playing the files, try installing the xvid codec first (google it), if you can't get it to play (winamp & mediaplayer sometimes have a problem with xvid as it's the codec pirates use on dvdrips, they installed security measures on some versions) just download vlc player from videolan.org, it'll play anything and doesn't mess with your current setup. Also, winrar is easily available, but winzip/winace etc will handle the extension in the extension manager.

No way! Christ, I wish my ISP wasn't lagging, I would want to watch these right now.

I think EVERY really good CG artist, especially the ones that people spend their money on, should put together videos of them painting from start to finish, as it would answer a lot of questions some of us less skilled artists have about how they achieve a certain effect, or how they're able to do certain things they do.

I can think of a lot of people who would want to see such a videa for work by randis (though he puts together great work in progress stills, I would love to see it in motion), enayla, Hoon, and other such renound artists. (I've seen Anry's paintings, and the way he tackles them just blows my mind right out of the water!)

thanks jan :)
don't have a mic, my excuse and i'm sticking to it haha, i don't think i can talk and paint at the same time, but cheers swoop, they wouldn't have been made without you.
thanks jen, don't sell yourself short though, you're a damn talented artist yourself, yeah, would be great to see more artists kicking these out, i know randis does give out opencanvas eventfiles, worth pm'ing him as he should have a load kicking around worth watching, and once hoon is communityactive again i'll give his arm a pull, he has camtasia and was going to do a few before he withdrew

Thanks offering these very interesting movies Martin, I really enjoyed watching them.
Think I’m going to experiment with your brush on next project.
