I am trying to rig my character with messiah. J have imported my character in two parts, the hair piece, and the other the body. I cant seem to get the bodys bones from not affecting the hair piece, and vica versa. I have only seperated the hair because I thought it would help, so I could keep the hair from distorting when I moved her arms. It hasnt helped, and I'm not sure what to do. I have parented her hair and hair-bones to a null, which in turn I parented to her head bone. I included a bone deform for her hair piece. Should I weight her hair piece, instead? I cant seem to find tutorials other than commercial help.

Well you could have a bonedeform for the head, and then just parent the hair object on the head. Then you could add another bonedeform just for the hair. That way bones from each bonedeform effect wont affect each other. I think this is the cleanest way.

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm not sure if I am understand you correctly.
I have a bone def for the entire body. The hair is seperate. I'll parent the hair to the head bone(which is part of the body rig), I'll add a bone deform for the hairpiece. In this hair piece bone-def, I could add bones to control the hair. Am I getting you?
