my boss ask me to do some smoke like this ,I don't know how to do it ,please someone help me,

not only simple smoke ,but there are some black line in it,

I believe that the effect you see there is a particle system. Either in a 3D program or a combination of a 3D program and compositing program (like AfterEffects). I don't know if you need the same type of action - a body or object turning into smoke, but I did find a preset that might help you. The only caveat is that you have to have Trapcode Particular.

This would be a good starting point, depending on what you want to do you will probably have to mess around with the velocity and particle count etc.

i think the smoke you point at, is created with Houdini, the best 3D program and has a powerfull particle system,
but with trapcode Particular you may create like that.

yup theres actualy a tutorial inside the houdini package that explains how to achieve whispey smoke like that, if you have the apprentice edition i suggest you check it out (www.sidefx.com)

If I would need to duplicate this effect my money would be at 3ds max and after burn.
