Hi there,

I would greatly appreciate to know how to animate a vector object in After Effects.
I have a line drawing of a lemon from Illustrator, that needs to 'squeeze' in and for a drop of juice to come out.

I look forward to a reply!
Thanks kindly

You don't! Vector graphics are treated like bitmap images and beyond the normal scale/rotate/transform properties and the effects, there is no deeper access to them to animate e.g. point-level transforms. That can only be achieved by copying your vector shapes to the clipboard in illustrator and pasting them as masks.

Thanks, it all seemed to be working well by pasting the points from my illustrator path and putting them into a solid layer in AFX to create a mask.
Hmm.. yes, it all worked sweet until i changed the thickness of the path back in Illustrator (i am assuming that this is where i went wrong), and the tweening went all crazy. It didnt tween the path (sorry mask) but skewd and stretched it out of shape then into the other object. Maybe i should explain that i used the live trace tool over a photo of a lemon to create the paths. Also, the two objects are indeed the same object but with the second object is just 'squeezed' in the middle..
OKay..thanks heaps
