Hey guys. Im just getting used to max and need some help. I have an object and want to make a cut all around it but how can I make both sides (lef tand right) have the exact same cut because when I cut one side than the other, they are different ;). And how can I cut in the exact middle of lets say two edges because sometimes I want my cut to be in the middle rather than scooted to one or the other side so its also parallel to one or the other edges. When I make cuts, it sometimes cuts below or above where I clicked as if it was automatic or something lol. Thats also one problem I have, because I click someone to cut but it cuts above or bellow. Well if anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks alot.

edit- and how does 3dsnap actually work when cutting because for me, it locks on the grid and my grid is small but has big "crosshacthes" so it doesnt work with big objects :)

The only advice I can give regarding a cut is a) use ignore backfacing!!! This will save you some headaches. And b) Use 3D Snap. You can have it snap to Vertecies, Edges, and such so it doesn't leave floating vertecies. It can also snap to Midpoints, which is one thing you wanted. To configure what it snaps to, right click on the 3D Snap button.

Hope that helps.
