View Full Version : Maya 4.5 and Joints ??
has anyone spotted something weird about the joints behavour in Maya 4.5 ?:eek:
cause i've been doing a setup following the steps of the DVD tutorial "integreting creature rig nanana..." with Jason Schleifer, and i end up with funny (not really:annoyed: ) translation axis !:surprised:
and also why the mel script that worked under 4.0 don't under 4.5 ? cause most of the provided scripts don't work...

there are no differences between the joints in 4.0 and 4.5. so there should be a mistake you`ve made.
for the scripts i can't speak. there are some differences in the mel.

joints work the same like 4 in 4.5, maybe u could've starte placing joints with some minor mistake, still u can chage the axis according to the character
scripting part:: till i've faced any probz with 4.5, which script r u talking about, could u post the script, so that i can check and tell
about the scripts > they should generally work. as big parts of the maya api got rewritten for 4.5 , plugins wont work anymore.
though , most of the scripts should do just fine.
about the joints > maybe try doing the tutorial again , if its still behaving incorrectly, post some pictures or a more detailed description of your problem , and we`ll figure it out.
