No offence, but the topics lately have not been that good. I've been wanting to rejoin this again but I don't want to when the topics aren't good. I liked the fauna one (though I haven't don't anything for it yet).

We are the ones who suggest them... and they're only as good as how we interpret them. :) Simple topics like these leave alot to the imagination.

Hear, hear! Succinctly put. I think it's important that the topics have a lot of room for interpretation, that's why I also prefer the simpler topics. The colour theme topics were good ideas. Everyone associates colours with different things.

Photoshop. People always ask me if my stuff is made in painter, probably because it always ends up looking so messy. :D

Natural, more like ;)
I'm experimenting with my workflow in PS a lot lately...though most of the time I spend a lot of time on something I'm not happy with. Today's a good example...have no idea why it took the full 60 mins to get to this stage :(

ok i presume u all know who A-Tuin is? So here he/she goes actually its some other spacetortoise who has no disc and elephants yet....but it is looking for his very own world with elephants and all to carry..slowly and steadily.

But where to find four cosmic pachyderms floating in the Void? :D
Arlekin, I don't know if it's intentional or not, but if you look closely, it looks like the shell already carries oceans and continents, so maybe this A'Tuin doesn't need a disc at all? Anyway, I think it looks good without one, too.

Painter IX, with a Wacom Graphire 3, about an hour.
This was my first time ever using Painter, so most of that time was spent futzing with it.

@JimiPhoenix
to be honest i think they look better without diskworlds and elephants..the idea that the creatures habit the shell surface sounds more likely to me.
But the idea of cosmic tortoises is cool i must admit.... i would like to see one....
Yes and the surface being covered with landscape impression it was intentional.... if i get the time ill finish it....get more refined image done. (my first turtle ever im glad its regodnizable)

GrantMan you should have more respect for your president....the proper authorities have been notified and shady characters are coming to get you as you read this! submit and OBEY!
Im not a fan of the Bush's myself, but I guess in his only defence perhaps if you have to make so many speeches - there's bound to be a few slip ups..

Say what you like, Bush is comedy gold. Nice one, GrantMan :D
Man, I think there might still be a site out there that archives 'bushisms' as they pop into existence. The 'fool me once' one over there is pretty awesome. Great style in your piece, as always.

True, true... To be fair, I'm sure I've said a lot of stupid things over the years... The difference is, I didn't run for president.... yet. : ) Just hope most people out there know that he might not be the best person to represent the average American.
Now, I better get going cuz I'm going hunt'n with Dick Cheney tomorrow. Yeeehaaaw!
And thanks for the comment JimiPhoenix. I appreciate it.

Heh, nice one Grantman. Actually, all the artworks here are really good and interesting.
BUt I must say that we have pretty much the same feeling for Tony Blair up here in the UK...perhaps the people in power are just the political equivalent of circus clowns? Something to point and laugh at while the elephants are getting set up in the background. (No "all americans are fat" joke intended...)
I'll submit my piece soon, but I have the feeling it will be more of an abstract piece...

Here we go. Ahh... nothing better than a slow sunday at the beach. My piece isn't too abstract, but I tried to reign this one in for a bit.
