I'm entering this in a competition later today and was wondering if anyone had any final opinions. I just saw it on a screen (crappy HP) other than mine (vx2025wm Viewsonic) and it was way too dark. What do other people think? Do you like the fact it has 3 colors, or should I change the walls to be either more red to match the table or more green to match the chair? Any other ideas that could be quickly implemented or photoshopped in? Thanks.

60 views and not so much as a peep? Come on guys! I have to have this done in less than 10 hrs. The least you could do is stop in and say if you like it or not.

hey i like it! youve got a great mood in this picture and I reallly like the idea. the table texture could use a bit of work maybe, everything else looks awesome

Well it's great looking piece of work.
I would just crit about two things. The light falling on the wall is too much sharp and in
contrast to its background ( on the side wall , the ceiling looks fine) and the hair look too regular besides the ear. You could add some irregularity to the the line of hair next two the ear.

Keep up the good work .

im not a big fan of lighting, although i know the lighting in the scene need more work, I can't give any direction.

two cents from my own pocket: the light on panel of the radio feels odd; the bump of the wall needs more work.

i like the bump of the table and sofa. those two materials feels great.
keep up the good work.

Yes! Thanks guys!

@JackZ - I know the textures arn't that great, but I suck at texturing (they're all procedural) and I had 7 days from ideal conception to completion for this project so I wasn't being that nit-picky. I may update textures and re-render after work today...its just that it takes 45min a frame to render and its a composite of 2 renders (1 from Brazil RS and 1 default scan line w/ Light Tracer). I did that because it makes the textures look way better, both brazil and LT have their sweet spots in the image and since I don't have time to tweak, I'm just compositing in PS.

@darkZ - Thanks, I didn't even think of that, I'll definitely do that in PS after work.

Hey Citizen,

I like it :) One thing I found though; the wire, as it curves up on the arm rest of the sofa: it's kinda blocky. Maybe add more segments or smooth it out? Of course, it be intentional, too :)

Cheers, and I hope you win.

yeah, I noticed the cable too. That should be a pretty easy fix in PS as well. This image is my final rough draft. I'll post up the completed final image in the gallery and link to it from this thread. Thanks for the support guys, gives me a lot of confidence!

Here is a copy of the final image that I submitted to the contest.

I added an iPod to the table next to the amp and also realized that I had forgotten to put the tube on top of the amp so I added that in too.
