I like it! Seems like the rock he is standind on could use some texture work... It looks like sand. As for the creature itself it is very good but the textures seem blurred a bit on his head. That could just be the pic compression.

For some reason, this image reminds me of the movie "Enemy Mine" with Randy Quaid and the guy from Iron Eagle.

Looks pretty good.

The main actors playing in that movie were Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr., who played the drac-alien :)

Apart from that... very good rendering. It has a sort of airbrushed feel to it.

Best regards...

Hey!! thanks a lot all!!
I am very hapy that you liked it :)
I agree for the ground and I expect to rebuild the rocks as this is not what I intended to have. (More like at grand Canyon, arches canyon)
I am still working on the skinnig...Humm..Maybe I should have posted it in WIP section :p

Very cool work. Im just not quite sold on the shadows for some reason yet, not sure why. I like your concept for the creature and surroundings.:)

He's interesting. I like the textures, but he looks as if he is made of stone. Is he supposed to be a stone-like creature?

Hey, my fatherinlaw worked on that one :)
They started to record the movie in iceland with a beautiful scenary. Halfwat threw, they scrapped everything and recorded it in a studio in hollywood :/

Wow, this is just great, everything on it. I like the face of the creature, you really can`t tell if he`s hostile or not.. And seems that he is thinking something or like he has noticed the photographer. Sort of troubled mind.

I think that environment could be understood two ways; This could be human size creature and i think thats the way you meant it or then it could be huge giant and those rocks could be mountains. Works both ways.. Tiny humans running to ground and you have panic atmosphere :)

Congratulations!
Great Character, great pose, fantastic textures and amazing concept:applause:
I like a lot of the envoriement too. If I could suggest you something, IŽd say to you try soft shadows. the shadow a bit blurry as it is, gives me a feeling of fake. :)
Realy impresive texture job Man.:)
Fantastic skining too.
If you have some free time, post the wires please:)
Congratulations, your character is Amazing!

I dont know, maybe its just me but the way you've got this set up it makes the thing look massive sorta like the little rocks he is standing on are mountains, oh well Im probally just going crazy, dont mind me.

I just looked at your website zegritch, some really cool modeling work you have there! Ridiculously heavy, from the one geometry shot you have on your gallery page, but still awesome. I am beginning very preliminary work on a project inspired by H.R. Giger's artwork, your work is kind of along the same lines and seeing it transformed into 3D is very inspirational for the direction I can take Giger's paintings.

As far as this particular model goes, I really like it! Very cool design. Some people were talking about the bluriness but I like it, it gives it a dreamlike quality.

hi Pascal really nice as usual...the pose is terrific too...........hope we saw him moving one day.....just one question l saw you model him in poly at first why you transform him into nurbs patch........
articulation dans le bras parait que c du nurbs .........sa fait toujours un genre de u quand sa bend...alors j aimerais savoir pourquoi se proceder de transformer en nurbs.........
ANd keep posting that terrific work

The landscape textures give me the feeling that he is a giant though, which I like... very well done, what did you use to create your textures? besides PS, :p

Hi !

Thanks for you r comments and sorry about the delay.
the ground is just a nurbs surface with displacement maps. Some different layers , with hand painted maps and procedural maps.
Cheers
