I am trying to add blendshapes for the face animation after the body animation is done. All I get is the whole character moves into the blendshape, and destroys the animation. How can I add blendshapes after the animation?

Use the order of input operations.

It controls if your blendshapes are applied before your rig animation or afterwards.

Righ-Click on your character, select all Inputs and there you have the window. Change the settings and everything should work.

Normal rules for blendshapes apply nevertheless! If you have a dodgy history on your character, there might be problems when creating your blendshapes. The manual should have some detailled infos on that topic, however.
