View Full Version : raytrace problem in my lake

Hi, ok i got a new problem. I´m seting up an scene in a lake, whit 4 objets an island (raytrace material) my (island a editable mesh) the mountain ( picture in a box whith bend and opacity map) and some clouds ( behine the mountains). Ok my problen is the shadows ok the hill and the meeting beetwen the lake and the mountains ... I´m thinking that is the raytrace of the lake. Any way please if some one can help me I´ll be so glad, I couldn´t fix the scene and my animatition must to be doned until this friday hahahaha ok thaks friends

Ok if some one want to give an advise or critic I´m open to hear it. just post it
One thing more i cant use day light becouse it take to much time to render

It looks like you are using a Shadow Mapped light with a low map setting.

Try either drastically increasing the shadow map size or switch the light to a Raytraced Shadow.

hahahaha thats it raytrace shadow i use to put raytrace shadows when a have a material whit a opacity but now i learn another use of raytrace shadow but it take a few minutes more to render any way that :P but now my scene is a litle bit dark there are too much to learn :p

:shrug: hum :hmm: ok the best to solve this problem is putting a ovni light ? excluding the lake mountains and clouds?
im going to try to fix it to night

I wouldn't use an onmi light, it casts 6 times as many shadows as a spotlight.

You could try adjusting the "ambient" light to brighten up the dark spots.

Making the ground ( Mountain ) not cast shadows might not be something you want to do, as it will not cast a shadow on the rest of the ground.

ok I going to try your advise tomorrow i will show you the resultado (finish work) but now i post this pic of the real scene Lago Titicaca La Paz Bolivia 3810 masl meters abouth the sea level there is my proyect :thumbsup:
