View Full Version : Resizing the canvas?

First of all I must state that I have never used Painter. So I apologise in advance if my question is very basic.

I recently saw a demonstration of Painter and was amazed that the guy demonstrating was able to resize the fiinished canvas considerably without any image distortion. This surprised me, as usually in graphics apps we are taught that downsizing is OK, but upsizing is a no no as it produces bad stair-stepping.

Did I dream it, or is this a feature of Painter?

Well, there is a feature called "Resize..." in the Canvas menu, which does a pretty good job with stair-stepping.

Or the demo guy could have recorded his session in a script, and played back the script in a higher-resolution document. This is another technique for upsampling content.
