Well, im stuck again! This time its with the IK part of my already boned character. Since my character only has bones it doesnt move very realistically and its pretty much impossible to make it walk.
Now i have searched the web for any decent tutorials on using IK, but i have not yet found any that proved to be helpful. Does anyone in here know of a tutorial that ive missed, or maybe someone has some tips for me?

Im not using r8 by the way!
Also, ive tried the one on creativecow, with the rat, but i still didnt get it

Thanx a lot in advance!

Hey Adam,

I tried the tut on rigging and it was great until step 12 where my bones would not mirror using the "-1 x scale" method. Help?

As a matter of interest, does the SetNullObject plug-in work with C4D 8?:hmm:

Did you zero the -1 scale? That should fix the problem.

Great rig!
Now finally I start to understand how to set things up.
BTW How do you guys handle the tedious chore of setting up all the selection tags for the bones?
It takes bloody forever, it's very easy to F*!K up and I always seem to miss a few polys.

Any secret tricks up yer sleeves?

It's probably a little late now if your character is done, but as you create parts of your character (or any model) save the part or parts as selections. Then later you can use them for weight mapping and showing and hiding various selections.

If you get MOCCA for v8, there are lots of new tools to help you rig characters.

That indeed is a good one, i also thought of that a little too late lol

Anyway, the rig is great, its not difficult to set up, buti have a this problem. I have already made a character and ive also made bones for the arms etc. Now my rig isnt very stable, in fact i can hardly get it to work normally.

Could the fact that i already made a character and bones, plus restrictions etc be a problem??

I really hope it doesnt of course!

BTW thanx again for this tutorial!
