Thinking about getting myself a new system based on an AM2 X2 5000+ cpu and I need som RAM. I have seen DDR2 800 (6400) recommended a lot here, but how will I fare with 667 (5300 corsair value) instead? First option gets me 2GB the latter 4GB.. Is the performance difference that big. System will be used for C4D, PS and the likes.

-And how will it compare to my current setup?: P4 3.0Ghz HT, 3Gb DDR400 value, X850 XT PE

Thanks in advance!

First ask yourself how much ram do you currently use. If less then 2gig then I would say get the faster ram and then put in another 2gig down the road.
