Hi All,

I'm glad to tell you the new features of the FastFur 2.0.

http://www.jun.it/FastFurScreenShot.jpg

NetRender Support for dynamics, just cache animation, save and start clients.
Easy combing with multiple splines.
Fast Clumping with Vertex Map support.
Variable Fur Subdivision.. mean faster preparing, faster rendering, lower memory.
Realtime styling tools, funny and easy to give property to fur.
New fur shader with backlighting support, faster like a default c4d material.
Inherited fur color from each Fast&Fur generator.
Wind effects.
New Organized Interface.
Here the furball animation net-rendered with a MacMini Intel core solo and a X2 3800 @ 2450

looks very good.
how many hairs are used and how long did you render?

Hi all,

Pid: Like you see in the screenshot there are 1.163.600 polygons and 73.300 furs, 33 is the fur subdivisions.

The render time is 32 seconds, like you can see on X2 3800 @ 2.45 Ghz. 4 secs. before the shadow map rendering start so 4 secs to prepare all furs.

best regards
Renato T.

Soccerrprp: Almost ready to release.

I need to setup a page, new license and fix a little thing on the size of fur :)

Thanks all

Wow wonderful looking tool. So simple looking yet effective.

I had a quick question as this seems in many ways like Hair. I was wondering the differances between the tools.

This one actually seems to be quite comparable.

Can your plugin/tool do really long hair and styles?

awesome plug, on my list for my next purchase!

Hi all,

Flog: Hair is different tool that allow to make all kind of Hair with real styling tool, collision detection and real dynamics like clothilde. Hair render a lots of "hair" without taking memory because use a different tecnology, in fact render each fur/hair on the fly.

Cheers

I'd love to see the combing tools and longer hair like on a head as an example. This tool looks great.

FastFur can only give a direction to "long fur" and cannot change the hair style :)
Then you can modulate with frizz and wave the length of your long fur.

Hair can also calculate real dynamics on each hair with the collision on the generator and on all object that you need.

They are different tools :)

Hi all,

FastFur 2.0 is almost read to ship.

I've made another little improvement on the "fake" dynamics.

The example show a critical keyframing that can generate, on the older release, faster movements of the furs. Now is added a integration of the velocity vector.
I think that this trick can help a lot fastfur to simulate dynamic of the furs.

But what do you think about the approach of fastfur dynamics?

Here a copy of the dynamic test for this release.

Renato,

The dyamics is certainly more realistic. I hope that this answer is what you're looking for, otherwise, I am not certain what you mean by "approach."
