That's *painfully* vague... I think you're going to have to be just a touch more specific before anyone can offer much help.

Im sorry for that...I'm using 3d max 8. im making my character walk and i just had a problem with the sword swinging beside his hips naturaly without interpenetrating to the body... would I do that with keyframe or reactor.... is there another way to do that?

thanks

Hello Kit,

I am assuming the sword is a separate object to the body. What you need to do is...

1) Make sure that the sword is parented to the waist belt.
2) Set the pivot of the sword to where the sword and the belt connects.
3) You might want to uncheck one of the inherit rotations axis under Hierachy panel under Link Info to help when animating.

You will then need to animate the sword swing by eye which I don't think will take much time. I don't think it's worth using reactor just for the sole purpose of preventing overlapping. It's actually much faster doing it by hand. I hope this helps.

regards,
Pete
