I'm pretty new to animation in XSI and my rig is behaving rather weird (i'm used to working in max)

Probably just gimbal problems. Right click on the rotation manipulator and change mode to "ADD", this will show where the true axis are. I'm sure they'll look messed up and explain why it's rotating like this. Go into the Kinematics property page and change the object's rotation order.

thats just it, it doesn't look wrong when using add. I really miss 3dsmax coordinate system, alot more forward.

Oh, right. Sorry I can't help you more. I'd check the file but I'm still on 5.1, not 5.11, so it won't open.

looks like i was too fast there, it seems to be a gimbal-lock problem. The funny thing was that it hided it after I set up the first animation, so i couldn't see that the axis was laying on top of eachother.

Now i need to read up on alot of stuff.

It's about global orientation, there is similar thread in XSIbase.
