View Full Version : Solid Splines Pro?
Hey all,
Does anyone know where I can pick up the solid splines plugin? There doesn't seem to be a way to buy through Paul Everett's site www.tools4d.com and it doesn't appear to have been updated in a while. Even googling for it turned up nothing.
Cheers.

... Spline Pro is a good PlugIn but if you cant get it take a look at DPIT Nature Spirit from http://www.dpit2.de/.
A good PlugIn with much more possibilities.

Good luck... I have a mountain of disregarded eMails to Paul. The worst loss for me has been DSP. What a waste.

When Stormtracer was updated, I emailed Paul and he replied within five minutes. I never had any problems contacting him or, when there was a problem, had difficulties getting quick and good help from him.

The bigest problem for me is spam.Ive had the same email address for many years and its become very difficult to filter the good from the bad.Currently I get on average 200 emails per day.And im forced to let mailwasher sort them out.So it can often happen that email just doesn`t get to me.
I dont often ignore an email(unless your on the official "evil wrong do`ers list").
Although often i might forget to reply if I cant resolve in the first instance.
If you dont get a reply, the best thing to do is use another email address and hope that mailwasher likes it :)
Regarding plugins, ill be putting some of those golden oldies up for FREE download soon, as a thank you to the community.

good to hear from you Paul
thanks in advance for throwing out the old plugins...do I dare ask if there will be Mac UB versions of them?

Thanks for the replies, folks.
Good to hear, Paul.
And I have DPIT, but haven't fully explored what it can do. renderable splines, eh? Time to play :)
To render Splines like Solid Spline Pro you use one part of DPIT. Its called: PlantVolume.
The PlantVolume generates the polygonal Volume along Splines.
It therefore requires a child object as input that generates splines (Plantage, SplineGen...or just a spline).
You can also use a second, diameter spline as second child of the PlantVolume object that defines the diameter shape.
Features:
Render Only : Checkbox
Forces the object to generate the polygons only for rendering
Radius : Float
Defines the radius of the blades
Sidefaces : Integer
Specifies the sidefaces count
Banking : Checkbox
Banks the rotation of the polygonal hull
Auto : Checkbox
Automatically uses the full animation range, so all frames of your scene
for the caching
Start/Stop : Time
The start and end for the caching can be set in here. Defined in frames
Cache Mode : Checkbox
Uses the cached solution (if you have created it already)
Calculate Cache : Button
Empty Cache : Button
Removes the cached solution
Polygon animation : Checkbox
Should only be used when the polygonal structure changes during animtion. For example when the spline points change the polygonal hull will change. This uses much more memory!!
and so on.
PlantVolume is just a little part of DPIT Nature Spirit.
I think it is a good buy.

Good to hear from you, Paul. Haven't noticed you out and about for quite some time. And those "golden oldies" are still staples for some of us. Picture Spotter (from 10Comms) is definitely among the most common plug-ins I use all the time...
