View Full Version : texture maps possible in Mental Ray??

I am using Mental Ray's Global Illimination in Maya 7.0 and I have placed a texture image on a plane using a Lambert shader. The problem is that the plane does not show up in the renders [alpha does though.] But if its a normal lambert without a texture map applied, it's visible and works well.

How do I get my plane w. a texture map to be visible in renders? Is there some sort of trick to get texture mapped NURBs to be visible?

Thanks.

I got it. I was using a Photoshop .PSD file. Mental Ray doesn't like that. JPEGs solved my problem.

MR doesnt seem to like my .tif file either and I think psd files you should use the psd button instead of just "file", don't know though. I just use bmp or jpegs
