View Full Version : Updating a Bind Pose?
cmdrhappy 07-27-2006, 06:30 PM Is it possible to re-set your bind pose without actually re-binding your model?
I bound and weighted it off of the grid by accident and don't want to have to re weight it? any suggestions?

You are using Maya right? If you have UVs set up on your model you can export the weight maps. Then you can detach the skin, move stuff around, and import the weight maps. This usually works fine, but you need you have your UVs set up nicely or the weight maps will be messed up.
Another solution would be to find a script that saves weights. I have used Michael Comets cometSaveWeights before and it works great. http://www.comet-cartoons.com/

Great thank you very much, this script looks like it'll work well for me. http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon13.gif
