folder vanishing !!

I've never seen that particular abnomality. Though I know you know this...it could be user error. Make sure you are the only one accessing the PC, and then run a search to see if the folders/files have been moved. Chances are, something happened to move them to a folder with max. Just a thought. It's also possible that there is something wrong with the install. You should contact Discreet or your licensec reseller if the problem remains unresolved.

but it always the same folders, and they just disappear !!!

Max doesn't delete it's own folders, that's for sure. And install shouldn't do it either unless you uninstall or repair the installation (at that stage you are in the hands of microsoft).

One other thing I can think of is if you copy/move max around your hard disks using xcopy. Empty folders do not get copied unless you use /e. The folders you list are usually empty placeholders.

Other than that, I don't know. Maybe antivirus softwares, or backup/restore procedures?
