Okay here is my situation, I have rigged a character and now want to edit the mesh, however not lose the rig information (painted weights) I have previously created.

I am doing tests on a cylinder with two bones, and when I edit the mesh I get a vert that does not move with the bones, and refuses to be painted?

Is it possible to edit a mesh under a skin?

Okay I worked it out, you have to unbind do the changes, then bind and reload the weights.
