View Full Version : Exploring Middle Earth - In the dark - TRi-14

Here we go!!
Main character, Gary, sneakingly enters with a tourch in hand lighting his way, and his trusty sword, slowly inching his way backwards into the belly of the cave. He takes a step forward as he spins around and catches his toe on a nearby stone and tosses himself into the air loosing his torch and sword. He stumbles up, dazed, and spots his sword and torch and quickly retrieves them. He darts around looking for any incoming foes .A “quick breeze” flies by blowing out Gary’s torch. Frustrated, Gary lunges the torch into the dark and begins marching away just when the torch flies back and knocks Gary unconscious.
A story board, and renders comming soon....

i like the concept skit that u planning for the chap :) i think it will be great if u stick to the skit as close as possible. All the best. Be watching this thread take form :)
Good stuff Tri,
I agree the timing is good, maybe a little too quick in some spots (I know 15 secs can go by really quickly).
Can't wait to see more.:)
I am curious as to how you will use the illumination of the torch, e.g how dark will it be when the torch gets blown out? Maybe if you just change the cave colours from warmer to cooler it might work.

the CAVE when light with the torch it is illuminated with a warmthy feel...and when torch is out, the cave is eery and cold...
(sphere is just for a visual feedback of the position of the source of the torch light)

Good job. Just a couple of things though that could be tighter; The fall and the torch coming back could use some speed up but all in all funny idea.
p.s Thanks for making me laugh. Your post was opportune.

trip looks a wee bit odd though..
maybe if you got rid of that slight lurch as hes turning around, and had him smoothly turning untill he is just about to start walking, then lurch slightly to take the first step, throwing him into trip...
I agree about the torch throw timing as well..
but god damn the mad scramble is good!!:bounce: beautifully done!!
