It's currently still a work-in-progress, got some changes to make to the diffuse before moving on to creating a normal and spec.

Yeah I agree with above, but it may come from the specular map that ou haven't done yet ^^
I would boost the spec on the metal, everything is too dark and uniform.. good job on the diffuse and modelling though.. I keep an eye on it ;)

I seem to get people noting the brightness of my stuff quite a lot, but I thought it looked ok. Could be down to my monitor's brightness or contrast. Anyway, the render there is just showing the diffuse, there's no lighting in the scene other than what I painted onto the texture. Hopefully the specular map should provide enough punch to make the whole thing stand out more. I generally try too keep the level of contrast in the diffuse reasonably low, leaving some of the work to ingame lighting. Thanks for the kind words though. :)

if its diffuse only, id keep the lighting between 70-100% ambient, then we can see your texture, its good to do it on a 128,128,128 grey background tooo, may not be the prettiest but it shows the object off rather than hiding it.

are you working in a dark room, cos its midday here

Always render on grey, and if you're lighting it with a single light and not a 3 light setup, then up the self-illumination to 50% or so.

Pretty nice.

Some sharper highlights and shadows might be nice, just to help give it some shape definition. The colours seem a little mute/blended together.

Is this for Badge of Blood? I recognise the design.

The texture is entirely self-illuminated in those images, there are no lights in there. You're right about rendering on a neutral background though, will remember to change it next time. :)

very nice very clean (in terms of painting)

it would be nice to see something contrast with the colours, but as its a sniper thats not really realistic :P

wold be nice to see some more writting details on it, like its name embossed down the side or something.

Looking good. I'd still expect a little bit of ambient occlusion from the scope onto the body of the gun.

Maybe tone down the multi-coloured refraction on the highlights just a little. It's a nice effect, though.

this looks like it is shaping up nicely. the main thing that is bugging me with this is the trigger guard. it is very pointy and doest really suit the rest of the design. personally i would make it a bit more rectangular, similar style other edges of the gun. nice work
