Hey Peter. Awesome Reel  It was such a pleasure to watch. I love the "how old do you think I am" animation. Even with really simple characters like that, it is very entertaining.
Thanks for sharing. Your reel is very inspirational. :applause:

Ok...now that was just great!!! :D
Love the characters in your reel. The fat guy was really well animated. Also the first clip. But I do feel the take on the yellow guy is a bit too exaggerated. Anyways, thats just my opinion :)

That reel was fantastic. I would have liked a tiny bit of music, but that might just be because its really quiet in my room at the moment. :p
The age animation was great, I knew exactly what that sound bite was from but still never felt separated from the animation.
Great work!

Hey dude, nice work!
There's some beautiful acting in that first piece. I love the little "would ya" gesture at the end. Very nice. I understood, but didn't feel it wa very strong when the yellow guy turned away from camera to say "maybe you should sell one of your guitars or something." What is ambiguous about it is that his head is turned away, but his body (chest) is still mostly towards Dewey. I think it would be much clearer and stronger if his body and (chest especially) turned away but his eyes were looking back in Dewey's direction. He's clearly afraid of Dewey, so while he wouldn't be facing him directly (confrontational) he also wouldn't let Dewey out of his peripheral vision. I'd have him posed with his body turned away, chest pointing awy and down, but his head turned with his cheek almost on his shoulder looking at the ground in Dewey's direction, maybe occasionally darting up at Dewey. Does that make sense? I'd have to agree also that I feel the yellow guys reaction is a little too over the top in the first clip, but that's purely a stylistic call, its still very well animated.
I also got the impression that the military guy doesn't exist beyond that screen edge. The acting and animation are both brilliant, but I can't shake the feeling that he's pivoting around a point just below the edge of screen, rather than from his hips or even feet.
The rest I can't really find fault with. I love the weight in the teapot scene, and the eye darts in the Oceans 11 scene is awesome too! Maybe the Clooney character is a little dark, but it was still very fun to watch.
The Purple guy, there's nothing wrong with it, its just not spectacular. It confused me as to why you put that on there. Personally I'd lose it. Its not bad or anything, its just not as great as the rest of your reel.
The little four-legged robot scene is awesome!! I love it! Ditto with the Silence of the Lambs scene, fantastic! All up, great work! Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Amazing reel, congratulations!
Loved everything about it... however, I too think that a soft background music would help fill in the sound for those mute segments, and I agree with DJ Nicke on this:
The Purple guy, there's nothing wrong with it, its just not spectacular. It confused me as to why you put that on there. Personally I'd lose it. Its not bad or anything, its just not as great as the rest of your reel.
Good luck! :applause:

Radiospank - Thanks for viewing my reel. Rendering... you mean how I set up the lighting? I am no lighting expert. Most of the shots use 3-points lighting which I learned from "Digital Lighting & Rendering" by Jeremy Birn. Each shot is just a spin off from the major idea. If you can tell me which shot you were interested in, I am more than happy to give a detail explanation.
Scob - Hi Escobar, thank you for your kind words. I really like your stylized Rhino model. It has animation potential.
Bleen - Hello again Pablo! Thanks for your valuable feedback. If I manage to find a background music that suits, I'll definitely added it to the reel. Thanks for visiting.

Hi Peter,
Awsome awsome work you have there! I voted 5 stars
Its one of the most impressive and funniest animation reel I've seen!
I dont see any faults with it and I think its fine without any music.
Your work is purely about great animation and acting and you totally nailed it!
Again, great job!! Youve inspired many! :bounce:

Hey Pete,
A nice reel you have there! I particularly like the fat guy climbing the teapot - great animation there, the secondary in the body as he drops back down on his arms before climbing back up is nice!
One thing, in the lipsync piece at the beginning and the foreground character goes 'what', his arm intersects with the other, be careful of that. Oh the joys of intersecting geometry! (I know that well ;))
Oh and I love the Ocean's 11 piece. I think I had a toy similar to the red model in that. It reminds me of things like the penguin in Wallace and Gromit and how without any major change of expression you can convey so much.
Nice work, what did you use to learn your animation from? In terms of Books, dvds etc? (Just curious).
Keep it up!

Hello Zookoo, Thanks for your support and compliments. I am glad you enjoyed it. By the way, I really like your artwork, “Critical Strike”. It’s hilarious.
Minximation – Hello Ming Xien, thank-you for spotting the mistake. SHARP EYES! By the way, it has been corrected and updated.
What did I use to learn animation? I read books such as “Illusion of Life” and “Animator’s Survival Kit”. However I learn mostly through practice and getting feedback from others.
Howitzer – Hi there Chris. Thank-you for taking the time to view my reel.
rblitz7- Hello again Richie, your portfolio is sure getting stronger. You are definitely drawing a lot better than me when I was your age. Keep it up!
ratatat – Hi Joshua, thanks for visiting and I am happy that you enjoyed the 3D claymation piece.
RenatoDub – Hi Ren, thanks for viewing my reel. You have no idea how glad I am that so many people found this piece funny, therefore...
Since a lot of people enjoyed the 3D claymation. There is actually a sequel to it which didn’t make it to the demo. You can view it below...
