View Full Version : Character:Dragon Slayer
sormann3d 01-20-2003, 09:46 PM Hi , Here is a pic of one of my current projects.
I changed some parts of an older character of mine to
be able to animate him later on.
I made him a little bit younger and replaced all paintFX stuff
with real geometry to get better control during aniation.
In the moment I plan to built a horse to sit him on top of it but that will take quite a while...

model seems to be perfect.... awsome job :)
imho only a change in the materials... the metal shoulder parts looking too plastic to be old metal. perhaps some finer bumps and carefully placed highlights...

He's got some really odd neck anatomy, and I agree the armor has a plastic look, but otherwise splendid work, with great detail.

I agree about the textures. In some places, it looks almost like a toy, which isn't a bad thing, but I don't think it's what you were intending. The model itself is great. Nice attention to detail.

hoo i like this, the only thing i have to say is.. the chain mail.. well.. is not an easy thing to do.. just try to fix the uvs..
there will be a time when one could use dinamics to simulate it:/
and the bump on the shoulders as mencioned, but i must say i like alot the decoration of his armor.
and the render overall is not impressive.. i mean.. is a great character.. i just believe it would look better with a "master render". at least i have that problem with my chars.. that.. i believe they could look better with a decent render:/
so i cant help on it.. is just my personal taste.
but is a breat character design.

Thanks guys!
I really have to work on the armor texture...
Maybe I take time to experiment with mental ray
to use GI ,or try a lightdome to get a more realistic ambient light.
