View Full Version : Still: Painting: Eagle
Hi folks!
I just painted an eagle and wanted to know what you think. It took me ~2h, kind of speed painting for me (I know here are a lot of people much faster than me, but I'm still not very trained  )
I used a photo as reference. No cloning or color picking. Original pic is something like 1300 x 1100 px.
Hope some of you will like it, c & c is welcome as usual...

(sorry for the bad compression, but I reached my traffic limit so I can't host images myself and 30kb is damn small  )

I think the hair needs more detail IMO :D

@djshivan: this is a bird, they don´t have hair, they have feathers;) ;)
Yeah, I must admit I was too lazy painting all those stupid feathers with a lot of detail... Was just a fast test picture :p
But thanks for your comments!

I really like it. I don't think it needs much more detail, I think it's great just the way it is. And I'm glad to see a different type of eagle than Bald, because it seems like that's the only type I see!
hi cgtalkers!
xercs webspace traffic led to a temporary closing of the page.
he created a enhanced version:

Thank you sad! That's very kind! :D
Concerning the new version:
I added some more detail and changed the atmosphere of the image by playing with saturation/brighness/contrast. I think the old version is way too boring :thumbsdow Looks like some kind of painting done for an animal book for kids. :insane:
In the new version I tried to make the eagle look more determined, elegant, and powerful...
I hope you like it! Tell me what you think :wavey:

the new version is very good - way better than the first one!
