I know i'm still atleast a year away from becomming proficient enough in 3d to get a job in the industy. However, I can't help but look around at what is required, and offered. After looking at several Small, and BIG, production houses, they all ask for about 2 years in the industry. How the hell would I be able to get 2 years in the comercial/VFX industry if I can't get a job cause they all want 2 years. I'm really quite angry about all that. They really should look at demo reels, that way, if you are good enough they will give you a start in the industry.

By The way, I know that tecnically this shouldn't be here. But I was hoping that either employers could comment about there thoughts of how one could start in the industry. Or fellow artists could comment about how they started.

Unfortunately mate it`s sometimes a case of " It`s not what you know but who you know.!"

I have heard of cases where people get hired simply because of the quality of their work, so don`t give up just yet.! :)

Send your demo real to certain houses for them to have look at. If it`s a kick-ass demo reel and they are on the lookout, you just never know.

At the end of the day, if you can help them make money through your work, then, well..... you`re in there.!

Take it easy
