View Full Version : Bone problem which i cannot solve by myself..
Ok then! After my previous problems with connecting arms etc to my creature, it was ready to be animated, bones are in place, yet somehow i still have this strange problem. I think its best to show it with an image then to try and explain it. The thing is that i dont know what im doing wrong,
The red leg is the leg from before i joined the bodyparts and the brown leg is from after. Ive made the exact same vertex selections but it still gives me the wird stretched leg thing with the new (brown) model.

Check your vertex selections again. I'm sure those sticking verts. are assigned either to two or more bones or to no bones.
will do..i also have 2 hipbones that arent connected to anything except the thigh bones, (no vertex selections for the hipbones), but in the non connected model that didnt give me any problem..
could that still be the problem?

Yes, that is a problem. Make sure *every* bone has a restriction tag, even if the tag is empty. Otherwise it will exert influence over the whole mesh.

Thanx!!! Well, when i placed the restricition tags on the hipbones nothing seemed to happen..but then i noticed that 2 arm bones were also without a tag, after i placed tags on them, the leg just fell into place!!
Thanx alot! now i also understand why it didnt happen to the old non connected model, because there the arms werent part of the body! Thanx again!

ps: For my final question in this thread...when i move my bones, and then select polygons, the polygon model looks like it hasnt moved, and that only the hypernurbs model is moved..is this normal?
