View Full Version : Character Animation : Anton...
Hi everyboy,
here is my last lowPoly Character, modeled with Lightwave and animated with 3dsMax... I use a single 512x512 map, and the polycount is 2228 polygones, because of the details for the face, and the hands.

don't forget the animation... a little heavy (1390 ko), a walk cycle to see the skinning.

Cool model, nice animation too.
But the way he walk gives a feeling that his legs are more heavy than his chest...
I'll try to ge into it:lightbulb .
this is nice, slightly robotic walk but very good for such a low poly count... by the way, your last? havnt seen any of your others???
cuse
:surprised
yes, you're both right, the legs movements look mechanic :annoyed: ... when the foot leaves the floor, there is a pause, I don't know why... I have probably made a mistake in my IK setup, I'll try to correct that for the next one.
cuse : that's true, even if this is not my first character, this is the first lowPoly char ever posted on the forum... I worked on dozens of others, but had never complete any of them, or even make clean renderings to skow them...
thanks for your comments...
what is your opinion on arm setup ?? you work with Forward or Invert Kinematics ?? I always use IK, linked to the torso for a walk for exemple, but it's not ideal for arm's secondary motions...

Why not?
I think that if you setup it correctly it should be even better than FK... Just look for the right way to do it.
