insanepoly 01-20-2003, 08:23 AM http://www.insanepoly.com/images/thauras.jpg
The Thauras-gul, an early prototype of the orcs created by Morgoth during the first age for the destruction of the elves. Driven by an insatiable appetite for elven flesh, these 9ft tall juggernauts were so successful at their task, that the Valar had to completely destroy the infernal race before they were able to wipe out the elves.

The_hand,
this is awesome, i cannot wait to see it fleshed out. I also think that the background story really sets the mood for this one, you have captured it perfectly!
hope to see some 3d soon...

Well here it is with a temp shader applied. I decided to change the original concept abit. Instead of it being a half crazed muscle bound monstrosity like the latter day orcs and urak-hais. He will be a highly intelligent and cunning adversary of the elves- but still a formidable warrior no less.
Joebount- yes, the orignal concept is Brom-influenced.
dom- didn't burn my AOM disc, but uninstalled it from my system to get some work done.
riki- same thing that happened to Poison, White Snake, Europe and all the rest of the hairspray bands :)

I don't think this horns and nose-rings are necessary, this intelligent impression he had is now somewhat dimnished:wip: But I like the teeth, they make him wild-looking and are probably enough, no need of horns.

azazel- I agree with the nose ring part, unfortunately his name means "Abominable Horned Sorcerer", so the horns will have to stay. But I am still fiddling with it to get it to look right.

Take away the horns, it's a great model without it I love the theeth....Try to map it with a flesh coloured mapping...so it's a human like character.
