ok i have to textur this guy by friday for school. the problem is that he is a beaver, and beavers have fur, and i'm not allowed to use a fur plug.

i've tried to create a decent set of maps in PS 7 using the brush that looks like a blade of grass, this works fine for creating a color map, but no matter what i do i cant seem to get a decent bump map that looks good when the color map is applied, it just looks super flat.

Any ideas on how on eart i can creat a decent looking fur texture will be greatly Appreciated

The majority of the trick is in the brush that you use. Grass shape is a good start, but not quite right. That is, if I understand what you saying by grass shaped.

What you want is black at one end, then fade it to white. Select it and Define Brush. Then get crazy.

I get results that make me happy.
