Hi everyone well just starting to get over the hurdle of writing shaders and I just gfigured out I can't compile a .sl file. Looked around documentation but can't quite understand the procedure.
Would anyone be so kind as to explain how one compiles a shader.

thanks

take care

Which Renderman compliant renderer are you trying to compile your .sl for? With BMRT, just type "slc filename.sl". I believe the command for PRMan is just "shader filename.sl".

thankyou very much , exactly on the dot:).
May I fillow my previous question with one that convcerns its self with displacment.

How is it possible to use the displacment shader and also how is it possible to use it with other surfaces , like placing a bump on on the bump channel in max or placeing a bump node on a material node in maya??

Thanks for any replies:)

take care and thanks once again
