I am going to render a city scape scene to be printed on a 4.90 meters * 26 meters board. How can I achieve this. What would you suggest. Any help would be really appreciated. I mean, help me guys. I am really scared by now.

Is this a billboard, or will it be viewed at a closer distance. We send files to be printed for billboards all the time, and they are never more than 300 megs in size, regardless of the dimensions. I would find out from the client what the viewing distance is and what the printers line screen is for this project.
for a higher resolution version:
Break up your scene, in a similar way that one adjusts texture resolutions, by what needs to be high res (foreground objects, etc..) and what can be lower res (the sky, out of focus objects, etc..), render these seperatly and then combine them (with aphas) in a page layout program to be printed.
You may also need to render out indivdual objects to be combined.

Hope this helps, and perhaps somebody has a better solution

Depending on the nature of the graphic. Sometimes you can get a good conversion to a vector format. Then you can blow it up as large as you want.
