 OK... here it goes..

First try with a challange.. and I shall use a new favorite of mine
ZBRUSH.. ( if thats ok, and no cheating ;) )

OK..

Concept: ( drawn on plain paper.. the first a got hold on, "scanned" with my HP digital camera :buttrock: )

*EDITED--------------------------

G'logh

(The Bog man)

G'logh is a creature that lives in the Dead Marshes. He lives in his den in the marshlands, built partly underwater like a beavers den, and here he also hibernates during the cold season. To survive he crawls around the bog, stalking and preying unforseeing fortuneseekers that, in hope of finding valueables from the great battles, travel into the stinking marshlands. When his prey has walked far enough into the Dead Marshes, he leaps on them from under the water. In the attack he blinds and incapacitates them with his venomous saliva. He then pulls them underwater so they die a horrible, panicstricken, death by slowly drowning in the stinking marsh water, shivering from the effects of thevenom. After that he can feast ravenously for a few days on the slowly rotting carcass of an Orc. Smaller prey is devoured immediately.

Looking good so far! We have quite a few ZBrush entries this month now :D

That is really nice work Zued! I can't see how you would really need coaching on it. Now my only observation would be that you have chosen a very basic generic pose for the character and you have gone with a unified skin. That isn't bad at all but you may decide to do another pose which means you will have to remodel all over again. Now I am not preaching not by any longshot...lol...I am guilty of the same thing with my LotR Race. However I intend to do another pose and I have the basic muscle geometry committed to memory so I shouldn't have much difficulty in reproducing it for another pose of the Zsphere figure. This is something you may wish to think on before you commit to any great length of time on the figure. But I tell you now that is some very nice clean work. And the ZSphere figure looks spot on too! :applause: I will be watching for your updates.

Thanks Mentat.. ( you see, you can coach me ;))
Yes that pose thing worries me a bit.. but I saw some article from Ken B, that he used lightwave to pose them up, then back to zbrush.. Ill try that, but with Cinema4D instead....
(afterall its only around 61000 polys so far, so what xould go wrong.. :D )

Se if I can do a a head also..

I have to say this and it's not ment to be taken badly....in the last pose it looks like he's taking a crap in the forest...the model is looking good but the pose has to go....unless of course your going to put a role of tp next to him hanging from a tree branch...IMHO...great work though...keep it up:thumbsup:

I'm looking forward to seing the progress of this one, I loved the flabby look of the first WIP pic (Pic #2). I think you should go with that kind of body especially with the pose you have decided on. A lot of flabby flesh hanging from that heavy built creature could look good. :)

If you're still unsure about his pose (I think it fits him well) try making some sort of environment for him or flesh out the background story even more. The perfect pose should then come to you all by itself.

One small crit on an otherwise very promissing start, choose another angle that shows more of his backside. It looks as if he is about to lift something so even the slightest hint of the back and how the muscles form there will bring more motion into the finished pic.

Viva Sweden
(and Denmark):)

PS. Don't worry about talking to your self;) there are already so many entries to this challenge that I guess people are just trying to play catchup with all the updates. It also seems as if alot of the Golden Boys/Girls have decided to enter this time.:buttrock:

- well everybody has to take a sh*t sometime
( I know, becouse it was hard sitting still for 3 hours of Lotr-TTT. :D)
But I get your point.. I see it now more clearly now ( even more when you pointed it out :D) and i dont want to offend any of the viewers.. ;) so ill probably go back to pose 1(pic2. standard pose, better for texturing.. )

TVeyes
Thanks for your support, but I go with remi´s eyes this time..

- Viva la Nordic.. ( danish beer is no.1 )

OK.. sometimes ideas flies away.. ;)

Lowpolymodel next to fullpolybody- ( both made in zbrush.)

Lowpolymodel (skinny one) went from zbrush to Wings, landed lastly in Cinema4d where it met up with the original model(somewhat modified though..) -rendered out in Cinema...

So.. :D should I stick with the original plan.. or do the skinny version..

Hmmm...the skinny one looks cool although a bit cartoony. I like the large one but he could use some more muscle definition perhaps. Not sure Zued....I think you could get a lot of character into the skinny one and eliminate the cartoonish look. What is your gut feeling?

Make both of them and place them in an Odd COuple scenario :)

I prefer the fat one myself, if I had to choose.

OK.. so it be.. both "skinny" and "fatman" get the job.. :D
...but one of them will have the other one for lunch ;)

Heres "skinny" progress..
