View Full Version : [WIP] P-51 Mustang
jasonlg3d 01-19-2003, 09:35 PM Well I have been working on this more lately. I've reworked alot of the modeling and added quite a bit. All I lack modeling wise is the cockpit and the exhaust. Crits welcome. Thanks to Skyraider for the E-light script.

Hi Jason,
I copied this straight from Maxforums, in case you missed my comments:
Your Mustang looks nice so far, though I do have a comment or two.
- Tail: too smooth, try to define it better (two straight lines with curved corner)
- Nose: try to get rid of the crease and bump - Relax might help a bit (I guess you used Surface Tools?)
- Supercharger intake: also here's a little crease that needs smoothing out
- Landing gear: looks a bit 'chunky'
- Windshield - rear-lower corner is blended and should be nice and straight
And some E-Light tips:
- Try to increase the mapsize, or decrease the size of your dome. You need more definition of your shadows - the wheels are nearly floating, you see :)
- If you get artifacts from higher map sizes, increas4e the sample range a bit and add more lights
- Increase the shadow density
Typically the E-Light dome should be roughly 2x - 3x the size of your model (for a hemisphere).
Very nice to see you're using E-Light :) I hope you like it.
Keep us updated on any progress!
Ronnie
