sorry I don't need/use either but milkshape io was discussed I think recently on the XSI mail list along with how to view tripolys, perhaps do a search on the list

There is a script in the local XSI Net that can be accessed in the NetView within XSI.

I dont remember what the script is called but it will Triangulate your quad messh for you.

select all polys you want to trianglate.

right click on them-> subdivide polygons->set "type" to triangle.
