I am doing the artwork for the cover of my bands new cd and have a few questions. It's going to be a shot of 2 cupped hands holding an alien fetus. We kinda wanted the fetus in a small pool of "goo" in the hands too...kinda sticky and stringy..We don't want it gory...just cool...heh. I'm working on the modelling right now, I just need some help on the texturing of the fetus and a good way to make the "goo". I have Glue3d and tried a few different styles with that..but it's just not coming out right. I also tried a particle system with blobmesh...but with similar results. I'm thinking aside from modelling the actual goo, this is going to be the best way. I want it to be kinda thick..like slime sorta.

Does anybody have any suggestions on a different way to do this? I was thinking about actually painting it on after in photoshop...but I'm not the best at that kind of thing.

As for the fetus texture...It's still kinda up in the air...I would rather use procedurals...but can't seem to get anything i like..I want to find a cool complex organic procedural that i could base it off of. But haven't found anything out there.

If anybody has anything that would fit, or ideas...that would be great..

Thanks...

Here's a quick idea thrown together..just to see what Glue3d would do. The alien is a quick model I found online for reference for the time being. The slime is too thick. I can't get it any better with glue3d. The material for the alien is also just temporary..

Any suggestions for the slime/alien texture would be great..

Thanks...

Human hands look ok...maybe use something more identifiable as skin for the alien when you do the final texture. It's hard to tell what it is with this procedural on it. It might also help to make the alien translucent and show some skeletal frormation inside it. < Especilly with the light setup you have this would have good effect.
There's also way too much goo...I'd say cut it back like 75-80%.
