Hi everyone,

I'm trying to achieve a realistic look for this composition, but I've been too long on it that I cannot look at it anymore.

I'll be adding a different material between the stones on the floor, and some more dirt/dettails like small grasses and little rocks. The middle stone bar will be rendered more irregual, it looks too perfect. What else should I do in your opinion?

Thanks.

Hal.

hey man!

Nice little scene you got going on here, in my opinion your really missing with your textures!
looks to me like your only got 2 textures going on a Bump and a color!

Try bumping them up to around 2048x2048 - 4000x4000 somewhere there because your getting so close! you need to add a spec layer to, also some cracks in your step and some grunge and scrateches on your door really ruff it up, commit your self alot more to your textures, take a look at alot of photo refs they really show where the dirt builds up with the all the chewing gum stains and the bird poo.

a tutorial i LIVE by is located here very well layed out easy to read.

take a look!

regarding scale.. the lower set of bricks looks way to small compared to the other bricks and the wine bottle.. and the big stone steps leading up to the door looks kinda funny.. the geometry noise doesn't give you the right effect...

keep it up :)
